The Project
The Alcoa Major Residue Program (MRP) was formed in 2005 to deliver a suite of infrastructure projects. The MRP was responsible for managing the construction of new residue areas as well as a number of other major projects that focus on new technologies and environmental improvements for Alcoa’s Refineries in Western Australia.
Residue projects managed by the MRP included:
- Construction of new residue storage areas at Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup
- Sprinkler upgrades to improve dust management at Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup
- Water storage cooling ponds, rows ponds at Kwinana and Pinjarra
- Associated Infrastructure structural, mechanical & electrical infrastructure
IMS Service Provision
• Identification and delivery of the H&S management strategy across MRP Projects
• Provision of H&S Manager and Safety Facilitators across Alcoa Residue locations
• Customised program design, implementation and facilitation of a unique safety cultural change program using an ongoing series of learning and development forums
• Strategic advice and monitoring of industry developments
• Provision of Mechanical Supervisor
