The Project
The Alice to Darwin section (1,420 km) completed the north—south rail crossing by extending the existing railway from Adelaide to Alice Springs. The Design and Construction component of the works was performed under a Joint Venture between Halliburton/Kellogg Brown and Root, Barclay Mowlem, John Holland Group and McMahon Holdings. Project value was in the order of $AUD1.4 Billion and practical completion was achieved 6 months ahead of schedule.

- 13 million cubic meters earthworks fill
- 1,400 culvert locations
- 90 bridges
- 2.5 million tonnes ballast
- 2 million sleepers
- 8 million sleeper fastenings
- 145 000 tonnes of rail
IMS Service Provision
• Delivery of the H&S management function representing the EPC across the total Project
• In addition to OHS Management, IMS were responsible for establishing and implementing Rail Safety Management Services under AS 4292
• Provision of external OHS auditing services to verify compliance to the Project H&S Management Plan
