Downer EDI Mining Signs Up for Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training
Downer EDI Mining has engaged IMS to deliver Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training, with the first training commencing for its Perth based personnel in March 2012.
Christine Coyne, IMS Principal Aboriginal Affairs Consultant, stated "Companies are recognising the benefits of the Aboriginal Cultural Awareness courses as part of increasing awareness and understanding of Aboriginal people and thereby enabling participation in the mining industry in an inclusive and supportive work environment. The courses also enable the workforce to gain a better understanding of why Industry engages with the local community".
Many progressive companies are implementing Aboriginal Engagement strategies and IMS can assist companies achieve their corporate objectives.
